Year 11
Welcome to your year landing page. Cannot remember where to find something? You came to the right place. Here you should find all the quick links to your notes, Miro boards, GitHub etc...
Keep up to the date with the chapter list earmarked for this year in the Chapter Index and Programming.
Programming lessons will be given throughout the year using the guideline list below. These lessons are geared towards the SEC Coursework to be submitted in Year 11.
A Little Homework 🏠
This year is your year to show us how far you have come. Whilst homework can be a burden at this level it has many benefits. Find twenty minutes out of your week to do the homework assigned to you. Doing your homework has many benefits and will give you the skills you need to sit for a big exam.
Time Management
Homework should take you 20 minutes to do. Fill in extra time by checking your work. Failing to stick to timelines means you are shaky in a few topics.
Independence
Collaboration is common in our lessons but our best work is when we have a clear head and a quiet space. In the exam you are on your own.
Set Priorities
Homework will give importance to topics that always tend to come out in exams. This means that topics that are given for homework are very important.
Planning
Planning your written communication is very important because you cannot rely on pointing or talking as in lessons.
Ace Your Exam 🃏
Repeatedly working out revision sheets we did in class can help you to get used to the style of questions that come out in exams. Exam questions mix topics and use command words to tell you how they should be answered. Recognising and responding to these is really helpful exam prep!
